Radhakrishnan Parthiban (also credited as R. Parthiepan, Ra Parthiepan, or Parthiepan) is an Indian film actor, director, producer and writer who works mainly in Tamil cinema. He has directed 15 films, produced 14 films and acted in more than 60 films. He started his career as assistant director for K.Bhagyaraj in 1984 and the duo worked in over 20 films from 1984 to 1991.[1]

Parthiban is known for having directed critically acclaimed films such as Pudhiya Paadhai (1989) and Housefull (1999) won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil.[2][3] In most of his films, Parthiban is a hero who makes jokes and always has a touch of humor with actors and comedians.

His performances as actor are in successful films such as Bharathi Kannamma (1997), Nee Varuvai Ena (1999), Vetri Kodi Kattu (2000), Azhagi (2002), Aayirathil Oruvan (2010), Melvilasom (2011) and Otha Seruppu Size 7 (2019).

In 1990 he has founded R.Parthiban Manidhaneya Mandram where he economically supports the public and also raises his voice socially.

On 25 December 2018, he was appointed as the new Vice President of the Tamil Film Producers Council replacing Gautham Menon and Prakash Raj who were jointly holding the position until 24 December 2018.

Oththa Seruppu Size 7 (transl. Single Slipper Size 7), simply known as Oththa Seruppu is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language thriller film produced, written and directed by R. Parthiban under the banner Bioscope Film Framers.[1][2] The film stars Parthiepan himself as the only character. The background score for the film is composed by C. Sathya and the film features only one song, which is composed by Santhosh Narayanan.[3][4] The film entered the Asia Book of Records and India Book of Records for having a single person writing, directing, solo acting and producing a film.[5][6][7][8]

Oththa Seruppu was premiered at the Singapore South Asian Film Festival on 30 August 2019.[9][10] The film released worldwide on 20 September 2019, receiving positive reviews from critics. This film is scheduled to be premiered at the International Film Festival of India 2019.
